For healthcare professionals
Fixapost is the first preservative-free latanoprost-timolol fixed combination eye drops available in the UK.
Studies show that Fixapost delivers non-inferior IOP reduction to BAK-preserved latanoprost-timolol fixed combination with superior tolerability (irritation, burning and stinging on instillation and itching both on instillation and throughout the day).2
Fixapost is the lowest priced preservative-free fixed combination eye drops.
Recommended dosage for adults (including the elderly): one eye drop
in the affected eye(s) once daily. If one dose is missed, treatment
should continue with the next dose as planned.
The safety and efficacy of Fixapost in children and adolescents has not been established.
The dose should not exceed one drop in the affected eye(s) daily.
As with any eye drops, to reduce possible systemic absorption, it is recommended that the lachrymal sac be compressed at the medial canthus (punctal occlusion) for two minutes. This should be performed immediately following the instillation of each drop.
A single-dose contains enough eye drops solution to treat both eyes.
After opening of the sachet: use the single-dose container within 1 month.
The unused single dose containers should be stored in the opened sachet in order to
protect from light.
After first opening of the single-dose container, use immediately and discard after use.
One box contains 6 sachets. Each sachet holds 5 single-dose containers (0.2ml per dose), giving 30 doses per box.
Prescription only medicine.
NHS Price: £13.49 for a pack of 30 single-unit dose containers
